The founder of Cross Border Law, Mr. Samuels has made a name for himself by taking on challenging cases rejected by other firms. He loves going to court and enjoys the spectacle of court room action. He appreciates the opportunity to relate his clients' story to the jury.

"I believe in what I do, and I believe in my clients."
-Greg Samuels

A great example of Greg's sincere approach and expertise in connecting with jurors in a compelling way is "the Hat Case." The Vancouver Province newspaper covered this story and ran the headline "Dead Man's Hat Nets $101,000" Read more about this case in our Results section.

Mr. Samuels completed his legal training at American University in Washington, D.C. and at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. Having opened his own law firm in 1995, assisting Canadians and Americans in cross border civil disputes, he understands the unique interplay of the laws of Canada and the U.S., and has established a specific skill set integral to Choice of Law considerations for his clients. As a British Columbia and Washington State Lawyer, he stays current on litigation trends and hones his trial skills through Continuing Legal Education, as a student, as well as lecturing on the nuances of cross border civil cases.

In 2004, Mr. Samuels achieved a record jury verdict against an ICBC insured-$12.4 million. In 2011, he expanded the application of Washington's Insurance Fair Conduct Act with a $1.2 million settlement on an insurance bad faith issue arising from a cross border underinsurance (UMP) claim.

For ten years until just recently, Mr. Samuels has served on and has chaired the board of directors of the Jewish Family Service Agency, a social service organization devoted to poverty relief, elder care management, employment assistance, immigration and resettlement, and counseling for youth at risk. For six of the past seven seasons, he has coached football with the Westside Warriors, where both of his teenage sons played. Whatever spare time he now has is spent assisting his youngest son, Jacob, in fulfilling his dream of playing quarterback in university.
